As the exam period approaches, emotions run high at ESTIN. Stress, motivation, fatigue—but also determination and ambition—are all part of this intense academic phase. To capture the reality of this period, ESTIN students from different levels shared their experiences, advice, and words of encouragement. Here is a collective snapshot of how our students live, prepare for, and overcome exam challenges.
How Do Students Experience the Exam Period?
Student experiences vary, but one feeling dominates: pressure. Many describe the period as very stressful, especially in the first years (1CP, 2CP, 1CS), where adapting to the ESTIN system takes time. Others, particularly those who stay organized throughout the semester, describe exams as manageable with good organization or motivating but tiring.
Senior students highlight an important truth: stress decreases with experience. As one 3CS student notes, once students get used to the rhythm and expectations, they learn how to stay calm and focused under pressure.
Keys to Success: Advice from ESTIN Students
Despite different profiles and levels, students agree on several essential strategies:
- Do not leave everything to the last minute: This is the most repeated advice. Staying up to date with courses and preparing revision sheets before exams makes a huge difference.
- Practice, practice, practice: TDs, TPs, exercises, and previous exams are considered more important than simply rereading courses.
- Understand, don’t memorize: Successful students focus on understanding concepts and problem-solving methods rather than rote learning.
- Manage stress wisely: Taking breaks, sleeping well, eating properly, showering, or even stepping away from a finished exam to focus on the next one helps maintain balance.
- Stay healthy: Avoid exhaustion and illness during exams—health is part of success.
Some students also stress the importance of studying smart, not hard, and keeping things simple instead of overcomplicating topics.
Most Helpful Revision Resources
When it comes to revision tools, students rely on a combination of resources:
- TDs and TPs – the most cited and most effective
- Personal notes and summaries
- Course materials and polycopiés
- Online platforms such as YouTube, MOOCs, OpenClassrooms
- Previous exams to understand exam structure and expectations
- Group revision sessions for mutual support
Some students also use digital tools, including AI-based summaries, to simplify and structure complex lessons.
What Keeps ESTIN Students Motivated?
Motivation comes from different sources, but all are powerful:
- Professional ambition and future opportunities (scholarships, internships, PFEs)
- The desire to succeed the academic year
- Personal challenge and self-improvement
- Support from family and friends
- Faith and trust in God, frequently mentioned as a source of inner strength
Students remind us that grades are not just numbers—they are doors to future opportunities and personal growth.
Messages of Encouragement to the ESTIN Community
The messages shared reflect the strong spirit of solidarity at ESTIN:
“Never say it’s too late. Keep going until the last minute.”
“Do your best so you won’t have any regrets.”
“ESTIN is not just a school, it’s a united and ambitious community.”
“Believe in yourself, trust the process, and remember that every effort counts.”
“التوكل على الله هو المفتاح.”
Students encourage one another to stay confident, help each other, and remember that the student journey is temporary—but the memories, lessons, and growth will last a lifetime.
The exam period at ESTIN is intense, but it is also a powerful learning experience. With organization, persistence, mutual support, and confidence, success is within reach. To all ESTIN students: stay strong, stay focused, and keep believing in your potential. You’ve got this
