Founded in 2019, the Higher School of Computer Science and Digital Technologies (ESTIN) has rapidly emerged into prominence, now ranked among the top higher academic institutions in Algeria. With three doctoral cohorts and a strong commitment to student engagement in applied research projects, scientific events, and international conferences, ESTIN continues to build a reputation for academic excellence
To maintain this success, the school regularly invites renowned figures and researchers to collaborate and contribute to its academic progress. In this vein, the institution has recently welcomed two of the most prominent Algerian computer engineers to its headquarter for a high-level training partnership aiming at promoting the academic and technical skills of the institution. The event has taken place in the presence of the head of the school, Professor Abdelkamel TARI, alongside a number of staff members and lecturers. The first guest was Mr. Fodil Mouhoub Fodil, an independent consultant with an impressive 48 years of experience in diagnostics, auditing, consulting, training, and coaching, whereas the second one was Mr. Cherif NAIT KACI, a savvy computer engineer specialised in CISCO and currently working as an instructor at INSIM. Their visit aligns with the school’s ongoing efforts to emerge as a leading academic institution in the field of cybersecurity; a strategy that is expected to create new opportunities for collaboration with industrial partners.
Mr. FODIL has expressed his enthusiasm for partnering with ESTIN to share his lifelong expertise in cybersecurity, ethical hacking, and organizational security, acquired in the U.S.A. This collaboration is now possible, as Algeria already possesses the necessary internationally recognised ISO norms. His coaching involves auditing both equipment and staff maturity within the school, an approach that will enable him to design training programs accordingly.
With a view to expanding its specialisations by 2023 toward digitalisation and future collaborations in the industrial field, ESTIN’s Deputy Directors expressed their wish for Mr. FODIL to train lecturers and PhD students in advanced cybersecurity subfields, including trust management and system auditing in addition to the mentorship of students struggling to bring forth their start-up projects — a proposal that was warmly received by the guests who have proposed organizing marketing workshops to help students better channel their innovations.
In regard to engineers, Mr. Nait Kaci has suggested a highly valuable training in CCNA (CISCO Certified Network Associate) which requires high-performance machines, offering the forenamed a better efficiency in the cybersecurity domain.
ESTIN is always seeking newness and creativity to forge the future generations of engineers. Through such valuable partnerships and initiatives, the school reaffirms its commitment to innovation in the field of cybersecurity.
